Free help available to local groups interested in environmental activities
Who is this for?
Placemakers offers any local group in Bexley that has five or more participants, support to bring their environmental ideas closer to reality.
An environmental project could be something like a friends of parks group which wants to learn more about local wildlife, a tenants and residents association which wants to learn gardening skills or a youth group which wants to learn about sustainable transport. It is your ideas we are interested in, and, if you wish, we are happy to advise you on ways that your suggested activity can be more closely linked to improving the local environment.
What are we offering?
Depending on what you need and what you want to do, we can help you develop your ideas, help you find partners to work with, help find funding to buy equipment, set up a project management system, hold workshops to help you develop your ideas, help publicising your activities, loan you tools, give informal training or technical advice or help in any other way that we reasonably can with the resources Groundwork has at its disposal.
Why are we doing this?
Groundwork London is an environmental regeneration charity that works alongside local communities, public bodies, private companies and other voluntary sector organisations to support communities in need. Our aim is to build partnerships that work toward a more sustainable future. We have been able to set up this Placemakers scheme with funding from the City Bridge Trust.
How can you find out more?
I encourage individuals or groups to call me with any ideas you may have or just to find out more – please contact myself: Elizabeth Noble at Groundwork London on 020 7960 4279. Similarly, if you would like to apply, please call me for our simple application form.
Once we have your application form, we will be able to tell you what help we can offer for your particular project idea and start working to support you in improving your environment.
